TELEMARK ENSEMBLE. LOOK 1
Each region in Norway has its own Bunad design. This one draws from elements of the female Telemark Bunad, where my ancestors lived.
Silk, textured satin, cord, vintage Norwegian stamps.
PTARMIGAN ENSEMBLE. LOOK 2
The Svalbard rock ptarmigan guides the draped pleats of this ensemble. Delicate white layered feathers allow the bird to survive extreme cold. Culotte pants and ruched collar are inspired by traditional menswear.
Satin, silk, ribbon, yarn, thread
STAMP SET. LOOK 3
Traditional mens winter-wear inspires the form of this set. Wool is hand embroidered to reference folk patterns and embellished with vintage Norwegian stamps to serve as a tangible link to the past.
Wool, embroidery thread, cord, vintage Norwegian stamps.
HARDANGER ENSEMBLE. LOOK 4
I created this piece from a collection of Norwegian-inspired relics and materials. The bodice references the neckline and color of the traditional bunad worn by women in the Hardanger region of western Norway.

MAP JACKET. LOOK 5
This jacket reflects the ties between family across distance. Pleated paper and stamps reference letters exchanged, while a vintage map anchors the back.
