how can packaging from everyday objects be used as patterns for wearables?
in PACK YOUR BODY i take the flat pattern of cosmetics packaging and scale it into a garment. felt holds the rigid shape, like the cardboard it copies. the piece draws a direct line between how goods are packaged and how clothes package the body. fashion, like packaging, sells and markets what’s inside. by reusing these forms, the work asks what it really means to “fit the form” and how design can shift when taken out of its usual context.
