HOLLOW WOMAN

how is it that women are present but not seen?

HOLLOW WOMAN reduces the female body to a wire frame, exposing how objectification can erase one’s sense of agency and identity. suspended from the ceiling she hangs like a puppet — on display but without control. her hollowness reflects the experience of being treated as a shell. woman is exposed, reduced, and trapped in her own body.

i puppeteer the female body as a form of protest. my intention is to expose control while turning it back on itself.

wire makes the body appear malleable but rigid. silver monotonous lines create a sterile frame.

HOLLLOW WOMAN reflects the condition of being present as an object of vision while remaining absent as a subject of value or agency.
